Possible infection Monroe piercing?

This was done on Friday, it’s now Monday and the swelling and pain hasn’t done down at all. The jewelry used was way too short so it was changed to a longer one that now also feels too short because of how swollen my lip is. I’ve been cleaning it properly and doing ice compresses to try and get the swelling down. Nothing is working. My lip is eating the piercing.

This definitely needs longer jewelry again. You need to go back to the piercing artist and get another piece of jewelry that's even longer to allow enough room for healing. The more pressure that is put on this piercing the more likely it is going to reject or become infected or it's just going to take away too long to heal. If you get a nice long piece of jewelry this would bring the swelling down very fast should heal much faster. Once you get another long piece of jewelry even though it's going to look funny for a while you do not need to have the jewelry changed anymore after that until it is completely healed because the more times you take jewelry in and out of a piercing that's not healed yet it is going to take even longer to heal or risk infection.

Update: I have a massive infection with a hard lump in my lip. I ended up in emerge and I’m on antibiotics! The piercing is out now.

When I had mine done it stayed swollen for almost 2 weeks & like you at first the one they put in was too short so I had to go back....just keep on taking care of it it should heal up.
