If your got NIPT test, are you trusting gender?

Are you announcing gender based of those NIPT ect tests? Or will you wait for anatomy scan around the 20wk mark until you announce? Or start buying stuff toward that gender?
I don’t know why, but I’m so paranoid that they somehow got my toddlers dna off my arm instead of the needed fetal dna! We were cuddled up for nap before my appointment, and they always sleep on the arm that the nurse drew from. And I’ll be honest, her alcohol clean was WEAK! :-/ I would have stopped her but she was so quick with the quick swipe and jab. Like, it floored me a bit. -I’m a nurse too and would never draw the way she did haha-

It’s 99% accurate with blood draws . It’s not going to be contaminated unless it was something like sneak peak snap test .

The DNA results are more accurate than the 20 week ultrasound. I’m going with my DNA results.

It definitely will be correct. They literally extract the blood and test the actual DNA! My first baby I did the same blood test and it was correct. Everyone I know it was correct. One of my old friends only did an ultrasound at 20-22 weeks and said it was a boy and had a baby shower and all clothes were for boy but when they gave birth it was a girl!!!! 😂 I hear this so much just from the ultrasounds so I trust the dna blood test waaay more. You have nothing to worry about. We already told our close family and friends but we will wait till the big ultrasound to announce on social to make sure the baby is healthy and we get that cute side profile for the photos😆

I'm trusting the results, yeah. My fetal fraction was 11.4% (which is well above the 4% needed for accurate results) and the NIPT test I took (natera panorama) stated that the accuracy from my gender results is greater than 99.9%
I'll take those odds, lol. So our family knows the gender result we got and that we got it through the test. But aside from that and the name we're choosing, it doesn't affect too much. I personally prefer more gender neutral baby items anyway (like those warm earthy terra cotta shades especially, or things in black that won't stain) and we have a boy name picked out as well. So even on the very slim chance the test result is wrong we won't be in financial or emotional ruin, lol.
