Baby lotion?

Hey everyone just wondering as a first time parent when can I use lotion on my 2 month old doctors told me at her one month not to use it yet what do y’all think? And if so what lotion do you recommend?

I have 2 sons. My first born is 3 years old and my second is 3 weeks old. For my first born, his pediatrician told me to lotion him from the start at least 2 times a day. Now with my newborn the pediatrician (same doctor) told me to not to put lotion until he’s at least  3-4 months old. I asked him why and he said it is to allow the baby to produce his own moisture so his skin doesnt rely on lotion for moisture. 
I personally love putting lotion on my kid after his shower every night so it’s weird that Im not applying lotion to my second but it does make sense. I think if you feel like your son needs lotion or if you want to put it on him, it won’t hurt!

We used Aquaphor and Aveeno baby lotion per our pediatricians recommendation. I don't remember when we started but maybe you could call the nurse line for pediatrician and ask.

It depends where you live. I live up in Colorado where it's extremely dry and my pediatrician recommended waiting so my son's skin could adjust to the dry climate and wouldn't rely on lotion all the time.
I think we waited a few months before trying it but even now I don't have to use it much on him because his skin stays naturally pretty moisturized.

I love hello bello because it’s organic but the lotion is so liquidy . I used their baby oil instead until he got older

They always tell me six weeks at the hospital. I personally don't use lotion on my kids until they're big enough to be spending a lot of time outdoors, though.
