Period after d&c/missed miscarriage

I had a d&c for a missed miscarriage 4 weeks ago. I was told my period would start in 4-6 weeks.

A few days ago I took a pregnancy test to see if the hcg had left my system just to see if my period might start soon or not (I have tons of extra pregmate tests so it’s no big deal to use them right now). There is still a faint line so I figured my period wouldn’t be starting quite yet.

But then the next day (which was 2 days ago) I started bleeding and am still bleeding. I figured it was probably my period but I took another pregnancy test to see if the hcg had left my body yet since it was JUST the day before with a faint line. And there is still a faint line! Not any lighter, not any darker.

Does this mean it’s not actually my period? But I’m bleeding similar to a period.

And I’m almost positive there’s no way I could be pregnant again already. It just wouldn’t add up.

I plan on talking to my doctor after the 6 weeks if I’m still getting positive pregnancy tests. But mainly just wondering if this could even be my period with hcg still present? Or wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar?
