Failure To Thrive 🥺
My baby is 4 months old and has pretty much stalled on her weight gain. I am very concerned as her her pediatrician. I have been breastfeeding her since she’s been born. My pediatrician said to cut down nursing to 5-10 min only and do the rest in a bottle. She wants her eating 5 oz per feed.
Ped says that breastfeeding burns more calories than the bottle and since I’ve been letting her nurse for 30 mins each time on me (I thought I was helping her weight by going longer) that she is burning all that she is eating and that could be a reason she isn’t gaining any weight.
My baby does have a small tongue and lip tie, so she is referring us to a Ped Dentist.
Does anyone know anything about bf using up more calories than a bottle for baby? Or any helpful tips at all?
When I pump, I have plenty of supply. I’m so lost 😔
