Car seat canopy?

Hey mommas! I am trying to decided if I want to get a car seat canopy/cover thing for baby! I live in a warmer climate so I am a little worried about it being too hot. I have thought that maybe a muslin type one would be cool enough but wanted to get some thoughts/opinions from everyone before I order one!

A car seat should never be covered! A cover, even a thin one like a a muslin blanket, will restrict airflow, trap heat and co2. 
We live north of the polar circle and covering the car seat or bassinet on the stroller is adviced to never do, they don't even sell covers for car seats.

It’s too hot. Poor air circulation. 
I had one that I used more as a breastfeeding cover the few times I actually covered up. I did use it to cover the car seat only while in the waiting room of the pediatricians office. 
Overall, not safe or worth the money.

We had one and we never used it. We live in the Southern United States and it does not get cold enough here even in winter to justifying buying it.
