Infant loungers

Question

Hello mammas. I have a 4 month old and I had never bought any sort of lounger before he was born, now I feel that  maybe I should have?
I was looking into duckatot and snuggle me loungers and I saw that even though the standard sizes run till around 9 months they also have ones that can be used for beyond that.,which I think if I do purchase one I’ll go for toddler size to last longer 😁 my question is from experience which is better duckatot or snuggle me?  And also are there any other brand recommendations?

I don’t see the point in getting one now. Babe is about to be rolling and mobile therefore you won’t be using it often.

I would say neither, they are useless & a suffocation hazard. Just get him a swing or rocker. But, you can literally make a lounger out of blankets if you really felt like you needed too. 
Babies are just fine lounging on the floor too lol

I have the dockatot and I used it for my daughter anytime I needed to put her down while I did things around the house, including shower. I then started to use it as a place for her to sit when she started sitting around 4 1/2 months and she’d play with toys or just do tummy time on it. She’s now 12mos old and she’ll occasionally “dock” herself on it inside of her play tent and uses it as a seat on the floor here and there - she’ll just do whatever she wants with it lol 
*we did not use this for unsupervised settings*

I had this one and I used it until 1.5yrs give or take. I also bought it when baby was a little around the same time as yours and I saw benefit to it. Hope it helps

Honestly, the dockatot is so useless. I wanted one so bad and I’m so pissed I bought it this time around.

I got a dockatot (infant) at 4 months and loved it. I’d probably get a snuggle me next time but either are fine. Our son slept well in it, and we bedshared so it was nice to have him on the bed but still separate on the dockatot. Also it helped round out his head more. 
We got the toddler dockatot once he grew out of the infant one and honestly I love that too. He still uses it at 4. He has a bed in his room, but like most kids, he gets scared and wants to come to my room in the middle of the night, and instead of coming into our bed, he lays on the dockatot next to my bed on the floor and we all get great sleep that way. It’s also great to bring to hotels while we are traveling. I wouldn’t use the toddler dockatot for a 4 month old though—way too big. Also I wouldn’t swaddle in the dockatot if you usually do that (unless supervised), as I think that would make the sleep situation a little less safe. Otherwise, the dockatot is totally safe. People will fear monger over it, but the sides hardly come up at all, it’s really no different than a mattress.

Your baby is going to be on the move very soon. When I need to shower or something while baby is awake, I either put him in a packnplay or in something like this. Also have one he can jump in. Keeps him contained in one spot!

I have a sleepyhead/dockatot- which I really liked for when my son was small. I didn't leave him unsupervised asleep- but it was great for when I was in the shower etc
