I’ve never heard of that…I’ve heard with certain illnesses you can have a false positive but never a false positive due to urine concentration. Can you post a pic of the test to see if it was indeed a positive or possibly an indent?
Confused after ruptured ovarian cyst and positive hpt
So on Saturday I took a pregnancy test, it was immediately positive (I can post picture in comments if anyone would like to see it) the next day I was picking up laundry and started cramping, within minutes the cramps were unbearable and pain was radiating into my back so I went to the ER. At the emergency room they did blood work and an ultrasound and told me that I in fact am not pregnant but that I did have an ovarian cyst rupture and had some free floating fluid in my pelvis. The doctor I seen told me that sometimes if your urine is concentrated it can cause an hpt to be positive when you aren’t actually pregnant. (I’ve never heard of this) so here’s where I’m confused, google can’t give me any answers or insight, ovarian cysts rupture so that you can ovulate, and it ruptured 1 day after my predicted ovulation date, if I had sex 2 days before the cyst ruptured, would I still get pregnant? I’m not familiar with how cysts work. Could I still have a chance of being pregnant this month?

Anything I’ve seen on google says cysts shouldn’t affect chances of pregnancy but that’s very vague to me lol. I’m currently 4dpo based on my calendar but if ovulation happened AFTER the cyst ruptured I’m only 2dpo. I haven’t been tracking at all because we just started trying for baby #2 this cycle! I guess I’ll update when I either start my period or get a positive test?? I’m kinda going crazy wondering how it will turn out. Then hopefully I can help someone else who’s in a similar situation in the future.

Yeah I was thinking maybe the cyst had something to do with it as well since you mentioned it was after your ovulation date. The human body is so strange lol. I’m not sure if your cyst rupturing will impact your chance of pregnancy or not. I’ve never had a cyst so I’m pretty ignorant when it comes to that topic. I do hope that it didn’t affect your chances. If anything your ovulation date may be off due to the cyst. Do you track your ovulation using other means besides the calendar?

I was also thinking chemical but at the same time was curious if maybe the cyst had something to do with it being positive. That other test was taken after the cyst ruptured and it is negative! I wonder if I still have a chance this month since I had sex 2 days before the cyst ruptured. It ruptured 1 day AFTER predicted O day
Ive personally never heard of that. Are your tests still positive now? I would honestly check in with a gynecologist to be safe.

They are negative now! I wondered if maybe the cyst might have had something to do with the positive test. I was just curious if maybe I could still have a chance of getting a positive this month.
