Breastmilk after surgery/anesthesia

I’m having a surgery done next week to remove kidney stones and will be put under anesthesia for it. Wondering if my breastmilk will be ok for baby (7 weeks old) after my surgery or if I should toss what I pump?

Directly from an IBCLC. Never pump and dump. Anesthesiologists and drs/surgeons aren’t educated in this area.

I dumped once because I have anxiety but a lot of people said its fine. Just on the off chance it happens, you CAN potentially have a pause in production after surgery. So dont freak out if that happens! I wish someone would have told me that. I got my supply back after about 2 weeks.

I went for surgery when my son was 5 weeks old. They said when I was awake enough to walk around and all that I was fine to breastfeed so once I got home I was fine.

You should be fine you can breast feed after surgery it won’t hurt your baby unless your doctor advises you other wise you are ok
