So I was unexpectedly induced on Friday and welcomed my baby boy that day, he is only 4 days old. My 2.5 year old daughter was staying with family while we were at the hospital and she caught a cold. She started having symptoms Saturday night.

My mom offered to keep her for a few days in hopes of keeping the sickness away from our newborn. Well my mom told me she will need to bring her back Thursday because she needs to go back to work. My daughter had a high fever just yesterday (Monday) but my mom said she’s been feeling better just a lingering cough.

I’m super scared to have her bring that home to our son. He’s only days old and he’s high risk because he’s only 4 pounds.

How long after symptoms start are you contagious? Am I being too paranoid?
