According to app I’m 8dpo but 6 days away from period . Should I get a first response or is it too early to test

Not too early but if it’s negative don’t get discouraged

You should always wait until you've missed your pet to test for most accurate results. While women do see VERY faint lines this early sometimes it is considered way to early to be testing. I'd rather see a nice bold line with no guessing than not sure if I actually see a line or not, ya know?
