My son Declan Orion was born still at almost 34 weeks, just over 4 months ago and I’m finally starting to come out of the fog I was in when everything happened. He got his Irish name from our Irish roots and our love for Ireland since our road trip around the country in 2019. His middle name is like the constellation, because of his mamas love of the stars. The past four months have felt long and short at the same time. Declan came into the world on June 5th, 2022.

Nothing could have prepared me for the moment I held him in my arms after a traumatic labor where I was rushed to the OR after delivery for a D&C because the placenta wouldn’t come out and I lost so much blood that my BP crashed and I needed multiple blood transfusions. As soon as I held him, our connection was so painfully strong, but knowing he wasn’t coming home with us was the hardest part. I could have held him forever and ever. It was no doubt the worst moment of my life and losing a child is unlike any other pain I’ve ever felt before. 💕💙 he’s always in my heart and I’m here to support anyone who needs someone to talk to.
