Do you refrigerate peanut butter after opening?

After you opened it , do you refrigerate it? It says you do not have to but I’m wondering if it’s better to refrigerate?

It depends on the kind. Most peanut butters, like Jif and Skippy, no. 
But most of the ones labeled as "natural" should be refrigerated. They can and will go back in the cupboard and grow mold that may not be easily visible.

No, it is shelf stable. It will harden in the fridge.

But some of the natural peanut butters it may help it stay fresh

I like eating peanut butter cold by itself, but I usually have another in the cabinet for sandwiches lol

If it's a peanut butter that's just peanut and oil it goes in the fridge after opening.  It can be a pain to stir up again and spread though.  If it's a pb like Skippy and Peter Pan it goes on the shelf after opening.

I HONESTLY put just about everything in the fridge once it’s opened🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ i did it when I was younger bc my dad had a roach problem that  we had the hardest time getting rid of and I still do it now even though we don’t have roaches and it drives my hubs MAD
