Baby monitor vs indoor security camera

What makes baby monitors so expensive? Am I okay to get just an indoor security camera?

I got a VTech monitor that had 2 cameras it was only like $70. I just got 2 so if he’s upstairs and I’m downstairs I can have one up there and vice versa but we did have a ring indoor camera and that worked well too but that was like $100 per camera.

I would say there’s not much difference. I have the owlet and a eufy security camera in the room. The benefit to the owlet is I can leave the sound running in the background of my phone (without the app open) to listen to baby. But the Wi-Fi connection can suck occasionally. The eufy camera I can only see/hear baby when I have the app open, and when I open the app there are lights on the camera that will light up baby’s room so we had to cover those up. But the Wi-Fi connection is so much better. 
It depends on what works best for you, but either a baby monitor or security camera will work.
