How badly do abortions hurt? Which kind is best?

I am 16 and I’m not sure which kind to go through. I think the pill will be easiest, but I am afraid of how long it might take and how badly it might hurt. But I can just get it and take it at home. The surgical procedure seems quicker, but I don’t want to have to go somewhere and I’m not sure how much that hurts either. Which would be best for me?

Surgical abortions are best, in my opinion, and it doesn't hurt. You will bleed and cramp like a period afterwards for 1-2 weeks but then you will be fine. And I highly recommend following up with doctor, post abortion to ensure all was successful.

i had the surgical procedure and i was completely numbed. it was still pretty uncomfortable,  and getting the numbing shot itself hurt. i had light bleeding and no cramping afterwards. it was overall pretty easy and (mostly) pain free. ive read that the pill can feel like a miscarriage,  heavy bleeding & cramping.

How far along are you? The pill isn't recommended after 10 weeks as it may not work. I had the pill at 7 weeks without issue. I bled really heavy, slightly heavier than my worst period. But I'm used to heavy periods with some clotting. Cramps were like a very bad period as well but they gave me some pain medication as well as nausea medicine. I bled for a week like a period. There wasnt anything that resembled a fetus or anything like that. Overall I didn't think it was the worst procedure or worst pain I have ever felt or had. Surgical abortions are quicker in terms of the process. But in rare cases they can cause scar tissue. But any medical procedure runs its own risks and complications. Nothing is risk-free. If you have a doctor or clinic you can call you can ask more questions and find out which procedure will be best for you

I’d just do the surgical one. Yes you have to go in and have it done but it’ll be done and over with fairly quick as the procedure itself is fast. You’ll be given a numbing shot along with pain medication and you may also be able to request sedation or anesthesia. I’ve heard the pill can be a long drawn out painful process and sometimes it may not even work so you’ll have to end up doing the surgical procedure anyway.

All these comments are saying the surgical abortion was painless, I completely had the opposite experience. It was extremely intense, I thought I had a high pain tolerance so idk if I just don’t or what. The surgical is the better option, it’s a faster recovery time & it has a higher success rate than the pill. Not that it’s comparable but I have tattoos all over my body, my back & ribs are tatted & it was hardly anything to have that done. This? Indescribable. Please bring snacks & water to your appointment. I was there from before the time I made the appointment for at 12:10 to after they closed, I walked out at 5. Wear comfy and loose fitting clothes. ❤️
