Has anyone done the Ancestry/23 & Me or similar DNA test to discover your ancestry? Did you find anything surprising? This is my DNA and it’s honestly SHOCKING because all of my life my mom has told me we are Indigenous (Shawnee), and I have zero Native blood according to 23 & Me. I told her of course and she is denying it saying her relatives in the hills (she grew up in rural Appalachia) were literally Native, dark skin/hair, and part of the Shawnee Nation. I have an uncle and his last name was Little Feather. I am also tanned skin with dark hair but I’ve always identified as white because my dad is. Now I’m like… I don’t know what to believe. 🥲😳 Kinda wish I never did the test because I’m having an identity crisis now.
