5 year old diarrhoea for 3 weeks. Advice?

Hi everyone so my 5 year old has had onoff diarrhoea for just over 3 weeks. Its like one day off two days on and repeat.. hes had majority time off school due to it. 
Hes well in himself tho and the gp wont do anything until its been more than 4 weeks.. anyone else experienced this?

Yaaah, I would see someone else. Have you tried the BRAT diet? Then doing an elimination diet from there. I would try to find out the food culprit (assuming it could be a food issue) if the doctor was of no help. My son has grown up with a dairy sensitivity. That is a really long period of time with loose bms. It is really easy to become dehydrated this way.
