Was I wrong?
For some context, my boyfriend and I have been together for 8 years now. We are in our early 20s.
We still don’t live together yet. We are living at home with our parents (he lives with his parents and I live with mine) while saving up to buy a house together.
I’m constantly at my boyfriend’s place, and I wanted to decorate for fall. I bought some things to decorate his room with (it was nothing overbearing- I just bought a pumpkin scented candle, a couple tiny pumpkins, an autumn wall hanging, a fall hand soap dispenser and a pumpkin bath mat).
My boyfriend blew up at me when he saw what I purchased for his room and bathroom, he screamed at me and told me everything was ugly and he hated it. I apologized and took it all down but he’s still complaining about it saying I’m inconsiderate for not asking him first. I was trying to surprise him because everything is so plain in his room and I thought I was adding a nice touch to his space.
I did apologize for not asking him first but I feel like he’s taking it all out of context. I also made us homemade pumpkin spice lattes and pumpkin French toast and he refused to eat it because he was so mad at me. He called me overbearing and said this is why he hasn’t asked me to marry him yet.
