Hi so im 18 and I'm thinking about going to college. However i want to study Communications. More specifically business communications... I've heard a lot of things about majoring in communications good and bad. Especially when it comes to jobs and all that. Which a lot of the things sad are good points. However, i don't think i want to actually pursue a career in communications, but i do think it's important to learn. And that's the main reason i want to go to college which is to learn. And i feel like studying comms will definitely help.

I come from a low income neighborhood and i feel like I've accepted that while i don't know what exactly it is what I want to do with my life, i don't have the skills or as many opportunities as other people to get the greatest jobs at my age. However i am contempt with being a server or working fast food as long as it pays my bills and as long as I am LEARNING something. And I've also accepted that financial aid might not cover my school all the time, so i am ready to go into debt. (Of course i am working on getting scholarships btw.)

Idk i feel kinda silly for wanting to study this. Seeing how everyone goes into a major to get a career out of it but i want to LEARN new skills. And after that maybe study business or culinary. Idk am i looking at this all wrong? Should i be looking at it a different way?
