I went for my 20wks anatomy/growth scan yesterday and everything looked perfect, apart from the fact that they could not see his stomach on the screen, she tried several times and she could spot a small structure but wasn’t sure if it was it or gallbladder?

I was asked to wait for around 15-20 min so the baby could “drink” and fill up his stomach, that way she could see better on the screen and also confirm he has normal oesophagus etc. After I went in, she said the baby hadn’t drunk anything yet, and she wanted to make sure everything is okay, so she booked me for a rescan next week.

Also told me not to worry about it, as the bladder was full and the kidneys looked perfect, so if there was an issue, it would show elsewhere as well, but I kinda got worried lol

Has this happened to anyone or do you know if it’s common not to be able to spot certain organs on the screen?
