When are you planning on taking maternity leave?

How many weeks before your expected due date? 
My EDD is February 21st and I was thinking about starting my leave on my birthday, January 24th. Is it too much? My thought process is to be able to relax and enjoy the end of my pregnancy and get the last things sorted before baby girls is here

Last pregnancy I worked until there were 2 weeks left, at which point HR begged me to go home because everyone in the office was terrified I would go into labor while at work, haha!
This time I'll take off by Christmas (so 2 months prior) and enjoy time alone and take many naps while my toddler is at kindergarten. I need to stock up on sleep!

I’m a teacher and working up until I deliver. I only get 12 weeks unpaid FMLA so I want to spend as much time after baby is born with him

If you are able to and can afford to take off prior to baby, I would absolutely take the time!! I am in the US and will have partial unpaid leave, so I can’t afford to take time off before the baby gets here. I think having a few weeks before will keep your stress at a minimum and gives you time to rest and relax and care for yourself a little before baby gets here!

I think this is ideal I took 4 weeks with my 1st but she arrived 1 week later so only had a week off! This time I'll take 5 weeks incase which Co incident is xmas x

I'm hoping to work until my due date! Obviously barring any issues that might come up. My husband will be off for the first 6 months with me so I'm not as worried about not feeling settled beforehand. Also I'll probably just stress if I'm at home beforehand waiting 😬

4 weeks before my c section, I’ll be about 35 weeks when I go out. From what I’m told where I live you either use your 4 weeks before delivery or you loose them. You can’t roll them over for after baby is here. It’s paid at 75% of my normal pay and then everything after baby comes is paid 100% for about 14 weeks I believe, would be 12 but since I’m having a c sections it’s 2 extra weeks.

Due Feb. 26 (with a history of early births in the family) so my current plan is to start my maternity the week of Feb 5. I'm an industrial seamstress, so most of my job is seated.
(And so far my flexibility has remained unaffected)
