I have been engaged to a man for the past two years. On Monday, out of nowhere he said he wants to have a second wife. He has never brought this up before. He was not raised in a religion/lifestyle with plural marriage. In the past he said he only wants to be with me. Now all of sudden he wants to pursue a plural family lifestyle. I asked him if there was someone else already. He said no. He said if I want to do this I can even be the one to choose the second wife. This is not something I ever considered. I love this man. We already have an unusual relationship as it did not stem from typical circumstances, but I never expected this. He said it’s not about sex. He said it’s more of what three people can do and build together than two people. I don’t think I believe that because if that was the case he would be open to a second husband or wife! (Not that I want a second husband, I’m just saying.) Is anyone in a Vee polyamorous relationship that can shed some light on this lifestyle? I feel played and I’m pretty sure I’m going to end this relationship because this is not what we talked about or signed up for! I guess the silver lining is he told me before we actually tied the knot!!!!!
