New approval for insurance but is it too late for us?
My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for about 5 years. I got pregnant once naturally about a year and half ago. I’m now 43 (just 43) and just got a memo from work for open enrollment for insurance and new starting Jan. 1st. Enhanced fertility treatment. They will pay up to $30,000 for your lifetime. We had IUI’s and paid out of pocket but decided with my age that we didn’t have enough enough to do IVF. Now this. Do you ladies think I’m too old to try IVF now? I have one daughter who is 12 from a previous relationship but my husband does not have any and it would be a dream for us to just have one more together.
We live in MN. While we did IUI’s my husband was battling idiopathic heart failure but then had an ablation and is in much better health. His count was a little lower. 5-10 million.
Do you think we would have a chance or do you think it is irresponsible to try and get l pregnant now ag our age? I just turned 43 and my husband just turned 40.
