Photography with iPhone?

Question

I want to get into photography and start doing it for money. Like graduation pics, prom pics, family pics, etc. but I don’t have a camera. 
Can I start with just my iPhone or no?

No. I would not pay someone for iPhone pictures. I think that would be like if you went to get your hair colored and your hairdresser opened up a box of grocery store bought hair dye.

You could but i honestly dont think youll get a lot of respect for it. Part of the business is having good equipment. If you only have an iphone i definitely wouldnt be charging for photos

I do iPhone photography and people love it! You just have to know angles, lighting, editing, etc.
Don’t let people tell you that you need expensive equipment. If you are good at what you do then it doesn’t matter what you use.
Look up Nitainnashville Photography on Facebook. She only uses her iPhone and she gets called for so many photoshoots. She’s the one who inspired me to just go for it. I have an expensive camera but I barely use it. I always have my phone with me and just got good at it. I took couples pictures for my friends and ever since people have been reaching out to me to do shoots for them. I just did a senior session yesterday. And the 29th and 30th I have family sessions. In November I have my friend wants some for her dogs 1st birthday and two in December. One newborn and an engagement.
The best equipment is the one you already have. Learn and work your way up from there.

No. You need a legit camera and photography knowledge and skill, as well as, editing knowledge and skill. No one is going to pay another person for photos they can take on their own phone. If you want to get into photography and make it a business, spend some time learning and practicing. You can probably find a decent, quality, used camera for cheap or do some research and purchase a camera during the holiday time of year when sales are abundant.

There are economic cameras like the Canon T Rebel series. I'm a hobby photographer and have a Canon M50 which is great for intermediate photographers and a little pricy but i found it to be a great investment! I'm currently taking a class and most people got a  camera from the Rebel T series because those are usually under $500. You also need good locations, or a studio space if you'll be charging people (i set up a space in a small room in my house) I suggest looking into the sales coming up and decide what works with your budget. Once you get your hands on a camera i suggest you set realistic expectations as i went into this thinking i would enjoy photographing people and it wasn't until i had my camera for about 6 months that i accepted the fact that i absolutely do not enjoy working with people, specially children 🤣
