Is a Boppy nursing pillow worth it?

I’m 200lbs and want to know if the Boppy is worth it for breastfeeding or if it isn’t, what’s an alternative ?

I have friends that swear by My Breast Friend. They said all of their lactation specialists recommended it, and glad they listened. I have one on my registry.

Hated the Boppy pillow but I loved the my breast friend one and with my second baby I got the Frida Mom nursing pillow that I loved as well. The frida mom is heavier but I never had to add a pillow underneath for more support. Either way, I loved them both because it straps around you and keeps the pillow secure.

I didn’t breast feed either one of my kids but they both had Bobby pillows to lounge in. My 3 1/2 year old would lay on hers on the floor until right after she turned 2 and my 18 month old loves to do the same. It honestly has been my most used baby item.

I found nursing pillows useless, was easier to just use a small pillow to get baby a little up. But my boons are also on the large side and pointing downwards, so nursing in a carrier was impossible for me as my boobs was to far down.

My sister is about that size with large breasts and find it got in the way more than anything for her. She actually said she “hates breastfeeding pillows” but still used the bopping as a little lounger and tummy time aide (supervised for both)
But I’m about 170 and really loved that and my breast friend. MBF was great when babies are d as super light and “floppy” but the bopping was much more convenient when they’re a bit “sturdier”. 
I’d recommend getting a used one/borrow and see what you think! Breast-feeding is a crazy challenge for everyone in different ways, and you just have to figure out what the best combo is for yourself! The fact that you’re thinking about it now￼ just means you have time to find one used :)
