What happens at the first prenatal appointment ?

I will be 9 weeks when I have my first prenatal appointment with my midwife, what should I be expecting they will do?

Every place is different. 
I got an ultrasound done before I even went to do an official prenatal. 
Called clinic and said I got multiple positive pregnancy tests at home and if I could do blood work to verify the pregnancy. 
Went in for blood work same day at my clinic and they took my blood, took my urine, sent me home and I waited like 3 days for the results. 
Got a call that blood work came back positive, and they already sent me prenatals to pick up that same day, and then they had me schedule the earliest ultrasound available. 
I got a Vaginal Ultrasound done at 7 weeks , ( it hurt really bad but I also had a bad tech) , and after that I found a hospital and OBGYN’s that specialized in women’s health. They did an actual prenatal appointment for me where all in one day they took blood, urine sample, asked me questions about my health, family history, history of any pregnancies, symptoms I was experiencing so they could issue me medicine ( like for heartburn, etc) and we got to see baby through a small hand held ultrasound device. 
Wasn’t an actual ultra sound appointment where they throughly show you baby, but it was just a little device to see our little bean for a quick few seconds. 
Two different places, experiences, doctors, devices used. So it just depends but they will definitely do blood and urine collection to verify the pregnancy and check if your HCG levels are rising or falling. Some people even get to hear a heartbeat.

Answer

You should already be taking a prenatal, hopefully prior to having gotten pregnant. Depending on different factors, such as if this is your first pregnancy, any prior losses and so forth - they may do blood work or a urine test to confirm. And depending on your doctor s/he will decide when you will have an ultrasound. If earlier on, it will be a transvaginal ultrasound. Congratulations!

Every place and OB Dr. is different but they will check urine and vitals. Maybe Vaginal ultrasound done and get your prenatal vitamins.
