Feeling some kind of way
So, I’m looking for a new OBGYN (long story). I culled recommendations from friends and one name came up multiple times. So I call the office and start asking about insurance, etc. The receptionist asks me for the reason for visit (8 weeks pregnant) and then begins asking other questions. It comes out that this would be my second live birth but that I’ve had three prior miscarriages. She says, “Well, since you’ve told me that: Dr. So and So doesn’t take patients with those kinds of histories. It’s just her policy.” I was shocked and just thanked her and hung up. But now I’m feeling pretty hurt and angry— like I want to give that doc a piece of my mind. My friend empathized with me, but suggested I call the doctor back and ask to speak with her directly to get her recommendation for a doctor. Would y’all do this? Am I being too sensitive?
