Am i being needy?

i love my boyfriend and  i compliment him all the time and tell him this but he never reciprocates. i don’t want to have to tell him to compliment me because then it isn’t the same as him just doing it himself but i’m feeling a bit dejected. am i just being needy?

No. It’s normal for someone to want their partner to compliment me. I think you should bring it up to him. Don’t think of it as you telling him to compliment you, but you asking him to vocalize the nice things he thinks about you. It’s important for people to feel validated and wanted.

You are not being needy. It’s totally normal to want a compliment here and there. It’s totally normal to want to hear something nice coming from your partner. You should definitely talk to him  about you feel but it doesn’t mean it will change. I am actually experiencing that with my boyfriend. He is not vocal when it comes to telling me how he feels towards me or what he thinks of me, I have expressed to him about the need of wanting to hear nice things from him and his response is “but how do I treat you?” So for him it’s more important to show how he feels then to say it. He totally disregards my feelings on it. I hope it works out for you.

I don’t think it’s needy at all, however people do have different love languages and it seems your partner is different to yours. Just communicate to each other about this so you can meet both your needs :)

You’re not being needy but you do need to communicate. I’m in the same boat, I need affection and all that but my s/o is the complete opposite, so I talked to him about it and he’s been more affectionate ever since. He can’t read your mind🤷🏻‍♀️ your love languages may just be different
