How did you wean your 1 year old from bottles of formula to whole milk sippy cup?

I need success stories. Trying to get rid of bottles but babe still on formula until 1 which is a week from now.

We didn’t offer whole milk at all. We offered only water in straw or open cups. 
We did cold turkey off breastfeeding. 
My daughter didn’t care for milk and still doesn’t. She eats enough cheese and yogurt that milk isn’t needed in her diet. 
I have recently reintroduced a cup a breast milk on occasion during the day but only 2-3oz a day (just had baby number 2).

My son is just recently 12 months we didn’t completely take formula and bottles yet but first I had to find a cup he could drink out of. For us it was straw cups. If I took bottles tomorrow he probably wouldn’t care but I’m still worried if he’s getting enough calories so we’re going slow. And I’ve started mixing whole milk and formula. I started with 1/4 milk 3/4 formula and I’m slowly increasing.

Answer

We mixed formula/breast milk with whole milk in the bottle. Then gradually had more whole milk until it was all whole at which point we used the sippy. So never had formula/breast milk in a sippy and never had a full bottle of whole. We staggered the meals, so we started with breakfast and once that was about 50/50, started to adjust lunch, then snack, then dinner. It was probably a month or so to get them from full bottle/formula to full sippy/whole for all meals. Went well for both kids. We used the 360 cups for a sippy.
