Did this girl just insinuate my daughter is autistic?
I wouldn’t buy my three year old skittles so she had a screaming tantrum and threw herself to the floor. I ended up having to bring her outside because she made a scene. Once I got her in her seat some girl came up to me and was like “I don’t mean to impose, but you should look into abc behavior because it helped my son who was autistic” my daughter is not autistic, but I couldn’t help but feel offended that she said that. All I said was “I’ve never heard of it, but she was crying because I wouldn’t give in and give her candy”
Isn’t this normal 3 year old behavior? Or should I take her in to be evaluated? She is very verbal and had her 3 year appointment a couple months ago and all is fine. Is this lady just assuming things?
Update:
I apologize I came across that it’s horrible to be autistic. My best friend is autistic and they are amazing people. I think what I meant to say that I was offended that she thought I couldn’t handle my daughters behavior. I thought I handled the situation just fine. I am a hypochondriac and if anyone insinuates that my daughter needs help I will go to the ends of earth to make sure that happens. That’s why I made this post because I thought that this was normal three year old behavior until she pointed it out.
