It’s been so rainy every day. My 2 year old is upset every morning now it’s raining bc she’s used to playing outside after breakfast. Shes been having the worst meltdowns. We will try and do something fun with her she usually would love, but she throws herself on the ground crying to go outside

I’ve been trying to do dif things with her these past few weeks, but she is not interested in doing activities. anything that feels weird to her, like play-dough, she just acts grossed out by and not interested lol. Even simple activities i’ve set up she doesn’t care, doesn’t even play with the objects and runs off to do something else. she gets frustrated easily, so if it’s not something she’s figuring out immediately, she’s over it.

i never try to push these new activities bc they’re meant for fun - i don’t want it to turn into a negative experience. i try simple things too, like getting a couple pots and wooden spoons out. she might play with it for about a min, then be done

Also with teaching new things, i try not to push it too hard bc i want her to her to think learning is fun, so i’ll just try again later. but it’s like she realizes immediately when im trying to teach her anything, and she will run away and play with something else. when i try to show her something by example, like wiping up messes, she will watch sometimes. but if i ever hand her the sponge and offer it to her, she runs off

she loves “active” activities, like hide and seek, but we can only do that for so long. she does have a lot of independent play but i also feel i should be playing and teaching her things too. she is a little behind on fine motor skills so i’d love to work on that with her but it’s so hard to teach her anything

sorry im just frustrated bc she’s bored and everything i’ve been trying she is so uninterested in! i feel bad bc i can tell she’s bored. any suggestions would be great
