could this be why ive gained weight?

Recently had a huge flux of weight gain over a week or two despite doing nothing notably different.

I started becoming very concerned and managed my diet closely, but nothing was working. Aka, the weight continued to go up. I was totally frustrated.

Today, i was putting hot sauce on my meal prep and realized (i use a generous amount) my hot sauce, for one serving, IS EIGHTEEN PERCENT of what you need DAILY of salt.

Could this be where the excess “weight” is coming from?? Hot sauce??
