Donating milk?

Jasmine

So my baby is just over 2 months old. And I’ve only breastfed since she’s been born. I only started pumping at 6 weeks (3 ish weeks ago) when the drs let her sleep through the night. So I was heavily considering donating some milk. I have collected about 400 oz in just those 3 weeks. And all of it has been throughout the night. Well since I talked to my husband about it I’m not pumping nearly as much per night. It’s not like a terrible amount but I’m now nervous of the what ifs! Is it normal for our supply to start to regulate now? I guess I’m just nervous of something happening and than I don’t have enough milk. I still plan on donating because I have tons for now.

It can take up to 12 weeks to regulate. I am BF my little one is 11 weeks now. She still eats twice at night and if she doesn’t wake up I pump. I don’t have as much in the freezer as I don’t really pump much but if you were to stop pumping at night your supply would after a few days regulate to accommodate for the baby to not eat at those times it’s all supply and demand. You could donate it if you want to, If I was to do that I would keep pumping at those times honestly so that way you can maintain it you could also store and use in bottles at later date.
