Breastfeeding
I gave birth to my son via c-section on 11/7. He was 10 pounds 2 ounces and my milk seems to have come in fast and furious over the last day or so.
At his first pedi appointment yesterday he weighed 9.6 pounds. She wasn't concerned about the weight loss. I mentioned I can only get him to eat on one side at a time. She suggested feeding him, then changing his diaper, and then feeding again on the opposite side and to go no more than 3 hours between feeds.
I tried all night and he still only prefers one side which I don't remember being a bad thing when I had my daughter. My problem is sometimes he's not emptying my breasts all the way and they still feel full. Currently he just ate on the left side and while it's not rock hard it doesn't feel super soft either. Is there anything I can do to relieve the pressure after feedings? Especially on the side he didn't eat? Can I hand express into a haakaa or something? I know pumping this early isn't ideal but I need relief. So far I think our breast feeding journey is going really well compared to when I had my daughter
