When I was around 7, I was court ordered to spend the weekend with my “dad”. My mom told me to not allow him or his wife to do my hair. She did my hair the night before.

In the morning of being there, my “dad” wanted to do my hair and I said no. He chased me around the house with his wife’s hair brush. I called my mom so she could tell him no but she wasn’t picking up. I was even crying. He brushed my hair anyway. That’s when I gained a bald spot.

My mother has tried everything since then to make it grow back. Massages, oil, pure aloe Vera plant, hair masks, etc. I’m 22 now and it’s still not growing back. It’s embarrassing. I can’t do certain hairstyles because if it. Every time I see a hairstyle that I like, I have to measure out where my bald spot would be and if it would show. I’m always touching my head to make sure it’s not showing and people have noticed that I favor that side of my head but don’t know why.

What can I do to make it grow back? Do I see a dermatologist?? I have no real answers on what caused the bald spot.
