Hydrocortisone 2.5% cream on newborn baby’s face?

Question

Has anyone ever had to use Hydrocortisone 2.5% cream in their baby face due to the baby having severe dry skin? The cream is a steroid and tends to lighten the skin. If you have used this on your baby, even on yourself, can you please tell me if your skin color eventually comes back to its normal color?

I’ve used it on myself. My skin is fine. But I know you’re not suppose to use it on babies unless dr says so. My pediatrician suspects my second might have eczema like me. She says use Vaseline a thick layer and short warm baths instead of long. She said if it doesn’t look better than come to them and they can tell you to use it. But never use it yourself with out them telling you to do so.

Yes we used it for our son he had severe weeping eczema. It did not change the color of his skin he’s fine. You’re just not supposed to use it long term
