Timing statistics

I know they say that 8/10 couples will get pregnant within a year of having regular sex without contraception. How does miscarriage factor in? Like we started trying in May, got pregnant in July, and had a miscarriage in September. Do I call my doctor about fertility next May if I’m still not pregnant, or does the timeline reset after getting pregnant and now I have to wait a whole year again?
