Left over placenta or uterus lining?

I’m 4 weeks pp and this came out last night, I’ve been to the doctors this morning and he’s sent for an urgent ultrasound because he wasn’t sure what it was, just wondering if anyone else had this as I’m worried, thanks

If it were left over placenta, you would have been really sick with infection a few days PP. Likely just uterine lining

I've had decidual cast that were similar to this. Which is okay!

I had something exactly like this 6 weeks pp, but larger and I was miserable and my bleeding got heavier, it was subsiding ( I thought it was normal because it was my first baby and I didn't know any better). I went to the doctor to show them and I was immediately sent to emergency and admitted to hospital due to retained placenta and an infection. I was in hospital for 3 days one strong courses of IV antibiotics. Looking back of photos of me when I had my 1st son, I looked so sick, my eyes were back and sunken in and I just looked awful, but I thought it was due to 3 days labour,  emergency csection and then sleepless nights with newborn. Little did I know I was sick with a serious infection and could have lost my life.
