Child Custody battle with habitual felon (and his mom)
So long story short. I’m just looking for input really on how you guys think this may turn out. I got married and had a child very young. Married at 18(mistake young and dumb ) got pregnant at 19 and gave birth at 20. I’m not going to go into many details bc y’all would be reading all day if I did. But my daughters father is currently incarcerated. He has been since 2020 for stealing and fire arm /convicted felon charges. He gets out in January. He has been in constant trouble (literally every single year with the exception of 2016 when he was at a rehab program. I which there he was also getting in trouble ) since 2008. He is a habitual felon and has an 18 page criminal record. He and his mom both are very controlling and very narcissistic. Very very toxic people. She thinks everyone else is the problem and doesn’t hold him accountable. Both just very toxic people when around each other. My daughter is 3 rn. When the last time her dad saw her, at 3 weeks old, he tried to take her form me. So I went and had a temporary order put in place. He gets out in January and I know once they do not get their way they are going to go to court to try to get unsupervised visitations. And honestly at this point , if they can behave and act like decent people, I don’t have a problem with them seeing her and they having a relationship. But I don’t trust them to be unsupervised. I have never been in any trouble except for a speaking ticket. The only thing that worrie me is his mom is rich and has lots of money and I know sometimes that’s all the court is worried about. She went thru this with her son for years with his dad and knows the system like the back of her hand. It is dumb of me to even worry I’m sure. But these people know how to put a good show on and have lots of money and it just worries me.
