My sister had a missed miscarriage at 7 weeks pregnant. She wants to try again asap. Is it okay for her to get pregnant right after the bleeding stops? Or is that risking another miscarriage? I don't want to give her bad advice

My doctor told me it was safe to try right away whatever I choose. I got pregnant again, right away a month later. I’m now 38 weeks with a healthy baby girl!

She can start trying when her next period comes or before but she must be sure she has passed all of the tissue. It takes long time for the HCG to get to under 5 after 6th week.

I just went through a chemical last weekend. The nurse who I spoke to said they prefer you to wait until your first period comes and goes, but didn't say why and I didn't think to ask. Searching online shows you don't necessarily need to but it's easier to date the new pregnancy if you wait until your first period.
