I'm a 17 year old boy. How can I ask my mom's friend for more money Update
I chose to get my GED last year so I could go straight to college. I didn't really enjoy high school. After I passed my test and received my GED I enrolled in a community college. My mom's friend was going through a divorce and needed a baby sitter for her two daughters. One is a toddler and the other is 9. She volunteered me and said it would help me learn responsibility since I'll be attending college but I dont have a job. I agreed to babysit and when college started I was doing online and watching a toddler while the 9 year old was at school. I couldn't get much down and my mom just suggested I drop out for now since I'm only 17 and still have time to go to college. Sucked because I feel like now I got my GED early for nothing. I watch the toddler from 7am to 530pm and my mom's friend pays me $25 dollars a day M-F and she has "mommy time" on Saturdays for 5 hours so she pays me 15 dollars on Saturday and I make a total of 140 a week. She sent me a link to join this app so I could log diaper changes and what the toddler ate and things like that. The 9 year old is being online schooled because of her acting up at school. So I'm gonna have her through the week now but the problem with the 9 year old is she doesn't listen that much and sometimes she can be a lot. And she can get extremely mouthy and say extremely hurtful things. The mom seems to be thinking we are sticking to 25 dollars a day and I don't want 25 a day of two kids and 15 on Saturday. I was gonna ask to go up to $50 a day M-F and 30 on Saturday. My mom thinks it's really rude of me. It was never my decision to babysit and I'm not trying to be rude but I really don't want to watch two for that much. How can I ask for more money without making her mad?
My mom isn't mean or anything. She just thinks college is a waste of money and you don't need college to be successful. The problem is I want to be a chemist and I kind of have to have a degree for that. And I also think she wasn't great about me getting a GED anyway but I didn't really like high school or have friends.
Update: I tried talking to my mom about e everything and mentioned quitting all together which she wasn't too thrilled about. She kept saying I'm so young and have plenty of time to go to college and I'll just end up changing my major over and over again. She also said I was being selfish 😕. I told her whatever I decide to do I don't think I want to babysit 6 days a week two kids for $25 a day and she told me it's not like I have anything else to do with my time and brought up how I have no friends. She is mad at me so I went to my dad and step mom's house. I think I will try to go back to college for spring though. Especially since my FAFSA was covering everything.
