20 month old sleep schedule

okay so about 2 weeks ago i took my daughter to a new dr. she had some concerns with other stuff but she also told me she needs to be sleeping at least 14 hours. she will sleep like 12 hours at night but if she does she wont take a nap. so idk what i need to do.. any suggestions??

12 hours is within the normal range. If there were other concerns like behavioral, developmental, speech, etc she may have been trying to give suggestions to the most common things hindering those areas which would probably be sleep, diet, screen time.

That is so good that she gave you a referral! Some docs will want to wait and wait, but the earlier the better if she needs some support with speech.

she said did she isn’t saying enough words like she’s suppose to but i also had to go to speech when i was little, i think that’s why? she gave me the number for teis and my daughter had an evaluation today

I've always read that 11-14 hours of total sleep is completely appropriate for a 1-2 year old. So, 14 would be on the high end and that includes daytime sleep. If your babe is generally happy throughout the day, they are likely getting enough sleep. My 18 month old averages 12 hours of total sleep.

My daughter sleeps 10-12 hours at night and then a 2ish hour nap. She is 23 months and our doctor said completely on track

I wouldn’t worry to much. Everything is so different from day to day, if your daughter is sleeping about the same on average then I wouldn’t worry
