What ever happened to waterbeds?

Did anyone ever have a waterbed ? I never had one but my cousin did and I remember as a kid I used to love it lol.

My brother had one and it leaked on multiple occasions and it was hard to change the sheets. If the bed was upstairs or upstairs apartment they could cause problems. They also ruined many carpets lol

I actually had this thought the other day, because of some show i was watching can't remember lol but I haven't seen or heard any one talk about waterbeds in years!!!! I actually had one as a kid, it was my parents but they didn't like it so then it became mine and my siblings for downstairs movie nights , we loved playing on it lol idk what happened to it though 🤔

I mean it seems like such a terrible idea to have that much water in a rubber sac. Just waiting for something to puncture it. I don’t even think they are comfy. I guess temper pedic or memory foam killed the water bed off.

My boyfriend in college and I got one. I hated it. My back hurt so badly. We had it 3 days before it was gone! Haha. And with all my pets there is no way it would survive my house. Haha.

I had a water bed MANY years ago and so did my bio mom. I remember her water bed having this huge headboard. My sister and I would climb it up to this open space above her bed and jump off onto the water bed. That was some fun shit. 😂 Definitely don’t have one now. I heard some homeowners policies won’t insure your house if you have one due to the flood risk from them. 🤷🏻‍♀️
