Our kiddo is 18 months so we are a little more relaxed that we were when he was a little baby. Some things I take into consideration: are the people your with vaccinated, so they take precautions like avoiding crowds usually and wearing masks, are there a lot of little kids who are exposed to things at school around. My MIL works at a school so she is exposed to a lot of stuff, but we trust her to take as many precautions as she can and she notifies us if she is sick, so we don’t mind seeing her for holidays. I have other family that we do avoid seeing for holidays because we don’t trust them to tell us if they are sick and they don’t get their flu shots and generally aren’t as careful. It’s a hard decision! There’s no right or wrong. I will say in the past there have been times I’ve regretted not being more cautious… but I’ve never regretted skipping out on an event.
Thanksgiving and RSV
Is anyone changing their plans for thanksgiving because of how severe RSV has been this year? My baby girl is 2.5 months old and I’m just not sure what the right call is. We’re opting out of the very large group gathering, but aren’t sure about smaller gatherings with other littles that are in daycare and preschool. Just wondering how other people are choosing to make these types of decisions!
