Infant car seat straps too tight - 4 month old

My baby is 15 lbs and 4 months old. The straps on the infant car seat are so tight I can’t barely get it on him and that’s with no bulky clothing. They say this seat is good for up to 30 lbs but I can’t understand how!! I have the Evenflo sensor safe gold system. Anyone welder have this problem?! I pulled them as loose as they go and we have only used this for 4 months it’s crazy

Have you adjusted the headrest at all? Maybe a notch up? Making sure that the straps are below the shoulders.

Have you not adjusted the strap height? With the straps all the way loosened and the strap height adjusted your 4 month old should absolutely fit in this seat.
