Need opinions regarding change of unexplained infertility protocol
Hi all,
A little backstory on me.. my husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for a year and a half and have been at our fertility clinic since June where we were diagnosed with unexplained infertility. My first IUI was done on CD 15 and was successful but ended in a MC at 5 weeks. My second IUI’s were done CD’s 16 & 17 and unsuccessful. Third IUI’s were done CD 11 and 12 and unsuccessful, and with our most recent 4th IUI, CD 12 & 13 unsuccessful. I expressed my concerns with my doctor and wanted to be switched to a higher dose or have my protocol changed but my doctor was against changing anything since I still grew 1 dominant follicle and ovulated every one of those cycles. My husbands numbers have also been high each time. From the start IVF has been pushed on us.
So, my doctor is now out on maternity leave until February and I have an interim REI in her place until then. Would it be okay to ask her to review my history to see if she would change anything in my protocol, though my normal doctor didn’t feel it was necessary? It’s a second opinion of someone and I’m just really desperate for a different perspective and opinion at this point and I just don’t want to step on any toes. Any insight is appreciated :)
