Debating if I should get the rabies shot, it doesn’t seem common to get rabies

Rabies has like a 99% mortality rate so if anyone has had it, they probably can’t answer your poll

There are very few reports of people surviving rabies. It's essentially 100% fatal. If you live in an area where rabies is very common in stray/wild animals or you are working with animals, then yes. You should be asking your healthcare provider and possibly employer if this is needed. It's required for veterinary jobs in some countries.

Well, if it's preventative, I'd take it. The alternative ain't great. Not talking about the death, though there's that, but the series of very painful injections to try to save you from the even more painful death.

You only need to get a rabies shot if you’ve 
1) possibly been exposed
2) plan on working with animals that may possibly carry rabies. For example my little sister used to work at a wildlife rescue, she had to get a preventative rabies vaccine.

If you get rabies, you will die. It is the deadliest virus.

You only need it if you were potentially exposed to rabies. So if you were potentially exposed and are debating whether or not to get it then 10000% get it because if you don’t and you were exposed to the virus you will die.

If you work with wildlife, yes. If you live in an extremely remote area with high risk,  maybe. Otherwise, you are extremely unlikely to ever come into contact with it. But if it will give you a sense of security, it won't hurt to get
