Do all premature babies sleep all day and night?

My sisters baby is almost 7 months and he sleeps all day and night. When do premature babies start to be awake more? He was born at 32 weeks and is healthy and doing well thankfully just always asleep.

Born at 32 weeks means born 8 weeks , almost 2 months early. So that baby is now (7 -2) 5 months old (corrected age). 5 month old babies sleep a lot. But your sister still should get checked if he/she is all ok lungs wise. Sometimes they spend so much energy breathing, they get tired and can’t stay awake at all.

My baby girl was born at 32 weeks. She was pretty snoozy until she was 3/4 months old. Around the time a nonpremature baby becomes more alert. She was due in March, but came in January. Once she hit March, when she would have been born, she progressed like any other newborn born full term.
