Is being left handed seen as bad where you’re from?

Mainly with the older generation I know where I live people used to get smacked with a ruler by the teachers for writing with the ‘wrong’ hand. I’m curious because my 1 year old was drawing a picture at my grandmothers house recently and my Nan said ‘oh good she uses the right hand.. not like Anthony 😒’ like my uncle is in his 50s and she has apparently never gotten over him being left handed 🤔 is that worldwide or just where I live?

Ps as if my ONE year old even cares what hand she colours with 🤣
