Confused

So my period came today, and it looks like it’s gonna be a light period I’m really confused on this. I’m wondering maybe because I was really stressed or is this normal to have at least once?? Because early in this month my boyfriend fingered me and I’m sure there weren’t any precum or cum on his fingers because he didn’t touch himself before he touched me.
